How our delivery jobs in Singapore work
You're a partner, not an employee, and there are no fixed shifts. Go online in the UPX Express Rider app when you want jobs, and go offline when you're done.
While you're online, the app alerts you to jobs nearby and you accept the ones you want. You can also switch on auto-accept and let jobs come to you.
On a job, the app gives you:
- directions to the pickup, any extra stops and the drop-off
- chat with the customer, without sharing your personal contact details
- a photo step at pickup and drop-off, as proof of each handover
- live tracking, so the customer can follow the delivery
When you apply, you choose the work you want: courier deliveries, Shop & Deliver jobs where you buy items at a store for a customer, or both. Customers rate each delivery, and you see your rating and reviews in the app.
What you need to apply
To deliver with us, you need:
- to be at least 18 years old
- a Singapore driving licence of the right class for your vehicle
- a vehicle you own, rent or borrow, or a company vehicle
- Singpass, or photos of your identity card for a manual check
- a smartphone for the rider app
- a bank account for your payouts
- an emergency contact
For the vehicle, you upload photos of the front, the back and both sides. If it's yours, add its log card. If you rent or borrow it, or it belongs to a company, add its insurance document and proof that you may use it. That can be an authorisation letter or a rental contract. A company vehicle also needs the company's name and UEN.
Partners look after their own insurance, so check that your motor policy covers delivery work.
Which licence you need for each vehicle
The licence you need depends on the vehicle, and for a lorry also on its unladen weight, what it weighs empty. These are the classes the Singapore Police Force sets out:
| Vehicle | Licence class |
|---|---|
| Motorcycle | Class 2B up to 200cc, Class 2A up to 400cc, Class 2 above that |
| Sedan or MPV | Class 3, 3A, 3C or 3CA |
| 1.7m or 2.4m van | Class 3 or 3A |
| 10ft or 14ft lorry | Class 3 or 3A up to 2,500 kg unladen, Class 4 above that |
Class 3C and 3CA cover cars only, so they don't let you drive a van or a lorry. Class 3A and 3CA cover only vehicles without a clutch pedal, so a manual van needs Class 3.
For an electric van or lorry, Class 3 goes up to 3,000 kg unladen. If you rent a lorry, ask the owner for its unladen weight before you apply.

How to sign up, step by step
- Create your account on the UPX Express Partner Portal at onboard.upx.org, and verify your email address and mobile number.
- Verify your identity with Singpass, which fills in your details from MyInfo. If you can't use Singpass, upload photos of your identity card instead. You also take a selfie.
- Add your address and emergency contact, your driving licence and your vehicle, with its photos and documents. Choose courier jobs, Shop & Deliver or both.
- Submit your application and follow its status in the portal. If anything is missing, we contact you on your registered email or mobile number.
- Once you're approved, pay the deposit in the portal if your account needs one. Then complete the training: video lessons on platform rules, safety and how jobs work, and a final quiz.
- Download the UPX Express Rider app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with the same email or mobile number and password, and go online when you're ready for jobs.
Earnings, payouts and the rules
Each job shows your earnings before you take it on. Fares depend on the vehicle, the distance and any extras the customer adds. Your payout follows UPX's pricing and commission at the time of the booking, and there's no fixed salary or minimum.
Earnings reach the wallet in your app once a delivery is complete, its proof is in, the payment is confirmed and nothing is in dispute. From the wallet, you withdraw to your linked bank account, protected by your PIN.
Accept only the jobs you can finish. Cancelling an accepted job without a good reason, such as a breakdown, a safety concern or a customer you can't reach, can lead to a warning or a strike. As an independent partner, you also handle your own income tax.
Read the Delivery Partner Agreement first, then register as a delivery partner on the portal.
